You are your own best health advocate


Bar none, as long as we have our wits about us, we are in the best position to ensure that we get the best and latest knowledge, the best care and support when it comes to figuring out what it causing our health issues and how to heal and get back on our feet again.

We know our minds and bodies better than anyone else because we live in them! We feel, we experience, we sense. And if feeling healthy again is our number one priority, we’re the ones who must go the distance to figure out why our sweet bodies are struggling.

Far too often, we let others drive our health decisions. Why? This is a great question…and there are as many reasons as are there are people. I believe, however, that most of the reasons we have allowed others to influence or make health decisions for us in the past is due to this one thing…

You don’t trust yourself.

There are many reasons you may not trust yourself when it comes to making the best health decisions. Here are a few:

  • You may be too exhausted
  • You may be in too much pain
  • You think you don’t have the ability to do the research to figure out how you want to handle your own health issues
  • You think you don’t have time to figure out the decisions that are best for you
  • Your ability to think logical may be affected by your condition
  • Someone or some thing caused you to think that you’re incapable of making your own decisions
  • Your doctor may be controlling you
  • Your family may be controlling you
  • You’re simply insecure about your own ability to trust your own guidance system (and we all have them)

While these are understandable on many levels, you must do everything in your power to make sure you stay on top of the decisions that are affecting your health and well being.

The best scenario, of course, is to take 100% responsibility for what’s happening to your body. You can start by looking in a mirror and saying this to yourself:

“I am always in the Right place at the Right time learning the Right information to heal myself.”

Write this saying, or another that serves you, on a piece of paper on your mirror in the bathroom, so this is the first thing you see in the morning. Every time you say it, your brain will start to believe it more and more, and as your brain gets convinced – Guess what? You will start living it.

OK, you’re in charge now – take a moment, and start to enjoy the journey. As challenging as that is, everyone I have ever talked to who has faced a health challenge, has shared with me the many lessons they have learned, and/or continue to learn, on their quest back to health.
